Deionized water ... Pure water as a base.
Glycerin ... Vegetable (coconut and palm) in origin. Soothing and moisturizing. Glycerin helps to lubricate the passages and provides a gentle barrier over the skin to help prevent infection. Glycerin also acts as a humectant, drawing moisture from the air and holding it against the skin.
Grapefruit Extract ... Helps to fight infection.
Sodium Ascorbate / Vitamin C ... Helps to buffer the pH of the spray. Vitamin C has also been shown to mitigate the effects of an allergy attack when taken internally or applied topically. All vitamin C is derived from corn starch. The vitamin C we bond with the sodium to form sodium ascorbate is pure and free of all protein contaminants, allergens and plant antigens. Even those with corn allergies can use it.
Description: Why would I want to use NutriBiotic Nasal Spray?
NutriBiotic Nasal Spray is useful to aiding many conditions. During allergy season it helps to remoisturize the nasal passages and clean them of dust, dirt, dander and other allergens. The nasal spray is also useful during a bout of sinusitis, or inflammation/infection of the sinus passages. Also, anyone living in a dry climate or spending time indoors with either central heating or air conditioning will find the Nasal Spray to be of use.
I usually just use Neosynephrine or Afrin when I’ve got a stuffy nose. How is your product different?
Both Neosynephrine and Afrin contain an ingredient which shrinks the mucous membrane in the nose. While this can provide the user with some relief, it actually sets the user up for a cycle of dependence. The user becomes accustomed to breathing with the nasal passages abnormally wide open and then, when the drug wears off, the nasal passages shrink back to their normal state. This shrinking feels like the nose is stuffy again, so the user re-administers the drug-containing spray, which once again opens the passages far beyond their normal state. Since NutriBiotic Nasal Spray is free of drug ingredients, there is no possibility of developing a dependence on it. NutriBiotic Nasal Spray works by re-moisturizing the passages, flushing irritants from the nasal passages, providing a protective barrier against infection, and is safe for long-term use.
When I use Nasal Spray it runs down the back of my throat. Is this safe? Can I swallow it?
Yes. This is normal, because the nasal passages are connected with the throat. The ingredients in the Nasal Spray are food-grade and are perfectly safe to swallow.
Can my child use your Nasal Spray?
Yes. Our Nasal Spray is safe for children. Just use one squirt in each nostril up to three times a day.
Is there a benefit to using your Nasal Spray instead of just making my own preparation?
Yes. While you can achieve the same level of concentration of grapefruit seed extract mixing up a solution in your home, the other ingredients have beneficial action, too. The Glycerin helps to moisturize and soothe a dry, irritated membrane, the sodium ascorbate helps to buffer the solution and make it neutral and slightly saline, much like the protective mucous layer secreted by healthy tissue.
