Help keep your eyes and vision healthy with Eye Factors™. This wonderful, natural supplement is loaded with 11 unique vitamins, herbs and nutrients designed to keep your eye's retina, macula, and other complex parts healthy. 

Your sight is dependent on the health of your eyes and how well they are able to perform their duties. You probably already know about the cornea (the transparent membrane that covers the front of the eye), and the retina (a light-sensitive membrane connected to the brain by the optic nerve), the iris and the pupil.

Did you know about the macula? The macula is a small, yellow spot located in the central part of the retina and is composed mainly of lutein and zeaxanthin. Both are types of carotenoids and are found in yellow, yellow-orange fruits and vegetables.  Macular pigment absorbs short-wave light, which helps protect your eye. It is also responsible for your fine acuity vision.

Vital Health's Eye Factors™ ingredients include:

• Zeaxanthin: A major component of macular pigment, it is believed to help protect the eye from harmful ultraviolet rays.

• Lutein: Derived from marigold flowers, is found dispersed throughout the retina.

• Cryptoxanthin: An oxygen derivative of carotenes, it is part of the yellow carotenoid family. Vitamin A is another important aspect of eye health. Retinal, a form of vitamin A, is needed to produce night vision. The retina uses four different types of vitamin A containing photopigments (one in the cells of the retina used for night vision and three for day vision).

• Beta-Carotene: Found in leafy, green plants such as spinach, has the highest conversion rate to Vitamin A.

• Lycopene: Found in red fruits like watermelon and red grapefruit, Lycopene is the highest oxygen quenching carotenoid.  Carotenoids are just one factor in maintaining eye health.

• N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC): A by-product of the amino acid cysteine, stimulates the body’s production of antioxidants.

• Bilberry: A close relative of the American blueberry, is composed of active flavonoid complexes called anthocyanosides.  Anthocyanosides are potent antioxidants. They support normal formation of connective tissue and strengthen capillaries.

• L-Glutathione: Thought to help protect the lens of the eye by protecting the tissues surrounding it.

• Copper: Essential for the proper formation of collagen. It is a fundamental protein in bones, skin, and connective tissue.

• Zinc: The eyes contain the highest concentration of zinc in the body. Zinc enhances the conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A
